I've read that Cleopatra dissolved a pearl in wine and drank it simply to win a bet with Anthony that she could consume the wealth of an entire nation in just one meal. Men would wear them while battling for fighting mojo, at one point Royalty could only wear them now anyone can wear them and they are affordable .The beauty of the pearl is so simple it does not need to be polished or cut .. okay well it does need to be strung !
